The Miracle Workers anthology continues with the same core actors but a whole new plot. This season is set in, you guessed it, the medieval Dark Ages. Daniel plays the son of a king who may not be ready to follow in his father’s hot-headed and murderous footsteps.
The awkward but lovable prince struggles to find his purpose in life while also finding companionship, even if it is a bit unusual. The previously released teaser trailer for Miracle Workers: Dark Ages lets viewers get a glimpse of the peculiar relationship between the prince and Henry the duck. In the full trailer, we see just a few seconds more of who we can only assume is Henry the duck while Dan’s character clutches the bird in his arms.
Similarly, Geraldine Viswanathan’s character feels she may have been born at the wrong time. Dark Ages pokes fun at the limited knowledge during this period in history while Viswanathan’s character sits in a classroom, ready to learn. The teacher states, with full confidence, “The Earth is flat, the devil is real, and that is everything that we know!”
Steve Buscemi and Karan Soni are also featured in both the full and teaser trailers. In an exchange filled with witty sarcasm, Soni’s threat of death on Buscemi’s character could have an interesting conclusion. As he says in the trailer, “If you work hard and be kind, everything will always go your way.” We really hope that works out for you in Season 2, Buscemi.
Miracle Workers: Dark Ages is set for release on TBS on January 28, 2020.
