Join MuggleNet on Instagram Live for Exclusive Interviews with Cast Members from “Harry Potter”
If you have been looking for something to watch during quarantine, check out MuggleNet’s Instagram for some exciting interviews! MuggleNet staff members have been and will be interviewing cast and crew from Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts as well as some other prominent people from the Wizarding World throughout the month of April. There have been several interviews with stars of the Harry Potter film series so far, with more to come.
The first of the Harry Potter interviews was with Rohan Gotobed, who plays young Sirius Black in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2. Gotobed is currently still in school and working on his second degree. He is also directing theater, which is a passion of his. He loves to direct shows that “look at why the world we live in is the way that it is” as well as classics like Shakespeare. When asked which Hogwarts House he is in, he said that he feels torn between Slytherin and Ravenclaw. Interestingly, when asked whom he would have liked to play in the Harry Potter films, he first responded with adult Remus Lupin but also expressed interest in playing adult Sirius Black. With Gotobed’s interview, fans took the route of asking several basic questions that most Harry Potter fans would be asked at some point. These questions included what his Patronus would be, what class he would want to take at Hogwarts, what class he would want to teach at Hogwarts, his favorite magical creature, and his Quidditch position. To these, he replied with a hedgehog or a wolf, any class that Hermione took that Harry and Ron did not, History of Magic or Care of Magical Creatures, a salamander or a Hippogriff, and Beater.
The most recent Harry Potter interview was with Sally Mortemore, who plays Madam Pince in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. While Mortemore did appear in a Harry Potter film, she considers herself to be mainly a theater actress. In relation to this, she told MuggleNet the interesting story of how she came to be in the film. Her agent recommended Mortemore for the part of Madam Pince and she received an audition for it. After the first part of her audition process, Mortemore had the impression that she would not be receiving the part. So when she received an offer to play the Snow Queen in a production of The Snow Queen, she accepted. Shortly after, she received news that she had, in fact, got the part of Madam Pince. The Harry Potter crew was kind enough to allow her to continue through the end of her run in The Snow Queen, delaying filming her part in Harry Potter because of it. Mortemore also mentioned that she kept her shoes from her Madam Pince costume, even though she wasn’t supposed to. She talked about how honored she was to be asked to voice J.K. Rowling’s introduction to The Tales of Beedle the Bard and that she has enjoyed listening to the final recording, so far.
