Daniel Radcliffe Continues Interviews from Quarantine
Filming for multiple projects and numerous events might have been put on hold because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but actor Daniel Radcliffe has continued to participate in interviews remotely.
Radcliffe’s latest round of interviews includes an interview for People‘s online live show, People Now, in which he appeared alongside actress Ellie Kemper to discuss a new interactive special for the series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, titled Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend.
The full episode of People Now is available below.

Some of the highlights included a series of questions about which actor – Kemper or Radcliffe – would be more likely to do certain things on the set of the show.

Radcliffe also noted, as he had in a previous interview, that he has been passing time in quarantine by playing with LEGO bricks. He described playing with LEGO sets as being “very meditative.”

Radcliffe was also interviewed for WBAL-TV by Lauren Veneziani, a film critic known as DC Film Girl, about the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt special.
Veneziani asked him which American comedy series he grew up watching, to which Radcliffe replied that he had grown up watching Friends, Everybody Loves Raymond, and Frasier. More recently, he said, he felt that 30 Rock and the American version of The Office were particularly influential for him.
On the subject of which Harry Potter film he would have made interactive if it were a possibility, Radcliffe was hesitant to make a firm decision.
I would have to revisit them to give a truly good answer, which is not something I’ve done for a while. But yeah, I expect probably the third one or maybe the last one would be the ones to give the ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ treatment.
Finally, in an interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Radcliffe was asked for his thoughts about former Harry Potter costar Rupert Grint‘s reported fatherhood, and he had nothing but glowing things to say.
I’m incredibly happy for him. He and Georgia have been together for a while. It’s really exciting. It is crazy to think because it’s in my head. It still feels like we’ve basically just met and we are about 16 years old.
Radcliffe also acknowledged his own privilege amid the current pandemic:
Look, I’m in an incredibly fortunate position. I have a lot of friends who are either isolating or quarantining alone right now. I’m with my girlfriend, which is lovely. Also, we aren’t home schooling [sic] or entertaining children 24 hours a day, which seems very challenging. Everyone – touch wood – is safe and healthy and staying indoors, so we’re OK.
He stated that he isn’t comfortable with publicizing what he has been doing to help others who aren’t in his position.
It should be a given that people in my situation do things like this and not something that we pat ourselves on the back for. We have been doing stuff. In terms of what I would encourage other people to do, find something that you think you can help with right now. If you can do something, please go and do it.
Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend is available to stream on Netflix.
