First Tournament of the PC Game “Courtyard Broomball” Coming Soon
May 30 will not only bring us the livestream of the Qeurovision song contest but also the first tournament for the new PC game Courtyard Broomball.
Courtyard Broomball has been available on Steam since 2018. The game is a retro parody of the 1990s game series Backyard Sports but features the sport of Muggle quidditch. The game is still in early access because its creators needed some feedback. They want to continue working on a multiplayer format, and they plan for every country to be represented.
Since most quidditch teams can’t practice or compete right now, Courtyard Broomball‘s creators decided to organize the Courtyard Broomball World Cup. There will be two tournament divisions: One is for anyone who wants to sign up; the second is for champions chosen by each participating country. There are 16 countries currently signed up:
- Argentina
- Australia
- Belgium
- Brazil
- Canada
- Czech Republic
- France
- Germany
- Hong Kong
- Japan
- Peru
- Poland
- Uganda
- United Kingdom
- United States
- Vietnam
The tournament will be streamed on May 30 from 10:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. ET with live commentary. The winner of each bracket will be awarded Steam codes in the amount of $100. The second and third prizes are Steam codes valued at $50. The top three players will also get to be characters in the game.
