Whoopi Goldberg Reads Chapter 10 of “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” for Harry Potter at Home
It might be June for us, but it’s Halloween for Harry and the rest of the Hogwarts students in Chapter 10 of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone! That’s where actor and comedian Whoopi Goldberg picks up for Wizarding World Digital‘s Harry Potter at Home, following Dan Fogler and Alison Sudol’s reading of Chapter 9, “The Midnight Duel.”
Goldberg, as introduced by Wizarding World Digital, has earned no shortage of awards in her career. Colloquially, her award of an Emmy, a Grammy, an Academy Award (Oscar), and a Tony is known as an “EGOT,” and Goldberg is one of only 15 individuals to have achieved all four.
Whoopi Goldberg is one of a very elite group of artists who have won the Grammy, the Academy Award, the Golden Globe, the Emmy and a Tony. She is also a prolific producer and is well-known [sic] around the world for her many humanitarian endeavours. Born and raised in New York City, she performed in San Diego and the Bay Area with the Blake Street Hawkeyes theatre troupe. It was there that she created the characters [that] became ‘The Spook Show’ and evolved into her hit Broadway show, Grammy Award-winning album and the HBO special that helped launch her career.
In this chapter of the book, “Hallowe’en,” Goldberg “introduces us to the rules of Quidditch, as well as the Hallowe’en feast, where an unwelcome visitor causes havoc in the castle.”
Who could that visitor be? Well, you’ll just have to visit Wizarding World Digital to find out! (For the audio-only version, you can visit Spotify.)
