Yaxley Actor Peter Mullan Takes On Another Villain Role in Netflix’s “Cursed”
If you love magic, ancient swords, and action-adventure novel adaptations, then Netflix has a new show for you. Netflix dropped the trailer for the series Cursed, and it’s looking to be stunning. This show will debut on July 17 and is a new take on the King Arthur legend.
Peter Mullan, who played the Death Eater Corban Yaxley in the Harry Potter films, takes on another villain role in this series. Mullan is shown to be one of the leaders of the Red Paladins, a group dedicated to eradicating people who possess magical abilities. Mullan has kept himself busy in the acting industry since Harry Potter and continues to showcase his talents in television series, like Mum, and movies as well.
This series isn’t your typical King Arthur story line since this plot comes before Arthur himself. The series focuses on Nimue, who is played by Katherine Langford (Love, Simon, 13 Reasons Why). This young heroine is shown to have magical abilities and is burdened with the task of getting the famous Excalibur sword to Merlin, but this isn’t the sword we all are familiar with just yet. This sword is cursed and demands a heavy price from those who wield it. The series wouldn’t be complete without some intense fighting scenes between Nimue and her people going against the Red Paladins while she is on her journey.
Cursed is based on the graphic novel of the same name, written by Frank Miller and Tom Wheeler. Check out the action-packed trailer below.
This trailer has it all! Magic, vicious fight scenes, magical creatures, and fays alike. Netflix is stepping up its game and has been adding more sci-fi/action series in the last few years.
Set your calendar for July 17. It’s a Friday, so that will make it a great day for some binge-watching. Are you excited about this new series?
