There are still plenty of opportunities to experience the magic of Harry Potter for the month of August! Check out all of the events happening this month throughout the world – virtual events included.
Harry Potter Season at Welwyn Garden City Cinema in Welwyn Garden City, England
The Welwyn Garden City Cinema has officially reopened as one of the first cinemas in the area to do so. You can celebrate the reopening by checking out Harry Potter season! From August 7 through 23, the cinema will be showing all eight Harry Potter films. There will be screenings every day at 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. To keep visitors safe, they have put many COVID-19 precautions in place, including mask requirements, free hand sanitizer, socially distanced seating, limited capacity, and piping in fresh air to the theater. You will need to book your tickets in advance to attend and can receive free popcorn and a drink if you dress up as your favorite Harry Potter character.
Hogwarts Digital Escape Room at Pembroke Public Library in Pembroke, Massachusetts
Fans of escape rooms, this exciting event is for you. Pembroke Public Library is hosting a Hogwarts Digital Escape Room on August 20 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. This escape room is for ages 10 to 13. Participants will need to pass exams and solve riddles and puzzles to escape this magical Harry Potter–themed room. You will need to sign up ahead of time to be able to participate and will receive an email with all of the information you’ll need.
DC FanDome Virtual Event
Are you a fan of DC Comics? Then get ready for their upcoming 24-hour event – the DC FanDome. Special guests from throughout the entire DC universe will be virtually joining in on August 22 for this exciting day. Included among them are two Wizarding World stars – Robert Pattinson (Cedric Diggory) and Ezra Miller (Credence Barebone). Pattinson will be appearing for his upcoming role in The Batman while Miller will be present to talk about his role in The Flash. Check out the schedule to see the rest of the incredible lineup.
Fort Collins Symphony “Heroes and Legends” Live Outdoor Classical Music Concert, Followed by Movie Screenings in Fort Collins, Colorado
The Fort Collins Symphony will be playing live classical music concerts outdoors on August 22 at 6:00 p.m. at the Holiday Twin Drive-In and August 23 at 8:00 p.m. at the Everett Pavilion. The symphony will be conducted by Maestro Wes Kenney. The show is called “Heroes and Legends” and will consist of 90 minutes of songs. Tickets are between $15 and $45. After the concert on August 22, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be shown on the big screens of the Holiday Twin Drive-In.
Harry Potter–Themed Interactive Outdoor Adventure Game in Sheffield, England
ClueddUp Games is hosting an adventure through Sheffield with a Harry Potter–themed Interactive Outdoor Adventure Game. Teams can be from two to six people, and a smartphone will be necessary to receive clues. The adventure will take place on August 29 and will cost £36 per team to participate. There will be prizes for different categories, including best team name, best fancy dress, and more!
