Two New “Harry Potter”-Themed Airbnbs Available to Book Now
The summer is not over yet. Those seeking a late-August getaway or those who are already planning their cold-season vacations are in luck, since a new Harry Potter-themed Airbnb has opened on either side of the Atlantic. Here at MuggleNet, we love to see how hosts bring extra magic into their home designs. Who wouldn’t want to sleep in a bedroom decorated with their beloved Hogwarts House colors, just like in the books? Let’s see these new Potter destinations and what they have to offer.
Draioght House, Boyle, Ireland
Draioght House, which literally translates to “Magic House,” is a quiet getaway in the heritage town of Boyle, County Roscommon, Ireland. Since it became available, this enchanting spot has suffered no shortage of bookings despite travel restrictions still applying in various countries due to COVID-19. However, some late-August dates have become available again, and you can always be the first to call dibs on this Airbnb for the term breaks later this year.
The house sleeps seven guests and comes with its own treehouse, a large garden, a BBQ, and three deck areas. It is also just five minutes away from shops, restaurants, pubs, and historical sites in town such as Boyle Abbey and King House, which is a gorgeous Georgian building with a remarkable art collection.
The award-winning Lough Key Forest and Activity Park is 2.5 miles (4 km) away from Draioght House, along with several other wonderful locations in Ireland’s hidden heartlands. The Neolithic-era Carrowkeel passage tombs and the stunning Caves of Keash are only a short drive away too. This makes Draioght House ideal for outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy visiting historical sites, walking, fishing, golfing, and nature, and of course, amazing Harry Potter interior design.
Harry Potter Apartment, El Paso, Texas, USA
Proving that you don’t need to get out of the city to get away from the city, this Harry Potter-themed Airbnb offers a wizarding haven in the heart of El Paso, TX. There is magic in every corner of this apartment. Plus, the brand-new air conditioning will ensure you don’t have to complain to Magical Maintenance because of the heat wave. There are two queen-size bedrooms, one bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, and ample parking space, and they are planning on adding a patio in the future as well.
Run by Adria Gonzales, a survivor of the Walmart shooting of August 3, 2019, this apartment looks unassuming from the outside, but it has been turned into a cozy little magical place once you enter. There are enchanting details in every room, even the bathroom.
You can still enjoy everything that El Paso’s city center has to offer, though, as well as good access to the airport. Well, that’s convenient for the busy witch and wizard of this day and age. Just don’t forget to take off the Sorting Hat (and put on a face mask) before you go among Muggles.
If you’re staying at home, we hope these new Airbnbs have given you cool decor ideas for your home. Which one is your favorite? Have you stayed in either of these locations? If so, don’t forget to leave a review or a comment below. Travel safely, witches and wizards!
