New Screen Hub UK by Pinewood Studios Could Feature a “Harry Potter” Experience
Pinewood Group is creating Screen Hub UK at its site in Buckinghamshire, England. Screen Hub UK will be based on a 77-acre site, adjacent to and south of the famous studio where countless iconic films were shot, including Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, James Bond, Star Wars, and the Marvel films.
This expansion will include a 350,000 sq. ft film-inspired international visitor attraction to be known as the Pinewood Studio Experience, new film production facilities with live links to the Studio Experience, an educational training and skills hub, a creative industries business growth hub, and a green campus.
This is an investment of $583 million. Pinewood Group is estimating this will result in the creation of 3,500 jobs, add $298 million annually into the economy, and pump $162 million into the tourism industry. Chairman Paul Golding believes this is the right moment for the project.
We have been looking at a visitor experience for some time and feel that now is the right moment to bring it forward. The project will strengthen UK film and bring much[-]needed jobs and spending.
Right now, Pinewood is keeping its lips sealed on some of the film-inspired attractions and the live link to the films visitors will experience. With so many films associated with this studio, we’re hoping to see something to do with Harry Potter!
Pinewood Groups is preparing the application and will begin consultations with local and wider stakeholders next week. Another Harry Potter experience is something most fans can’t get enough of. Will you be taking a trip to Pinewood Studios when the new Screen Hub UK makes its arrival? Let us know!
