Social Media Roundup: Reminders and Life’s Magic
Welcome back, all you wonderful Muggles! Get ready to catch up with some of the Wizarding World stars in this latest edition of MuggleNet’s Social Media Roundup! During the past two weeks, there have been anniversaries, posts in support of National Coming Out Day and World Mental Health Day, some reminders to wear face masks and to go out and vote, and much more.
But first, let us ask you this: Do you believe in ghosts? Things tend to get a little spooky with it being October, as Jamie Campbell Bower (young Gellert Grindelwald) found out. We cannot help but wonder which Harry Potter ghost paid him a visit – Moaning Myrtle, perhaps?
Last night I stayed in a house where at 3am a little girl ran across the landing and past my bedroom door. No children live in that house. Happy October. 🖤🕯 x

Also tweeting about nighttime adventures, albeit much less spooky ones, was James Phelps (Fred Weasley) who spent some time stargazing. Phelps took advantage of the clear night sky to look at Mars, which was the closest to the earth we will see for another 15 years. The image he shared is truly magical.

Sharing some of her processes and celebrating her completed and submitted novel was mama-to-be (again!) Jessie Cave (Lavender Brown). Congratulations! We cannot wait to read it when it’s published next year.

Continuing with the celebration posts that took place this month, Natalia Tena (Nymphadora Tonks) passed her sneakers on to Sophia Topley for the walk they are doing to raise funds for the Orchid Project. So far, they have walked 861 km on the walk to Fatima, Portugal.
Passing on the fundraising baton for @OrchidProject to Sophia. Check out our @JustGiving page and please donate if you can. Thank you! #JustGiving https://t.co/iTIFsR5IT0

October 10 was World Mental Health Day, when a lot of people shared their stories, mental health education, awareness, and advocacy to remove the stigma of mental illness. Harry Potter actor Oliver Phelps (George Weasley) shared an insightful post on the importance of taking care of your mind.
Speaking from experience. Opening up to someone about all the bad things going on in you mind is the BEST thing you can do.
Facing up to problems isn't weakness. You wouldn't leave a broken arm unattended. Don't leave a broken mind. X

National Coming Out Day takes place annually on October 11. It is a day to bring awareness and celebrate those in the LGBTQ+ community, regardless of if they are “out of the closet.” Advocate Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley) shared the following tweet showing his support.

With COVID-19 cases on the rise, a couple of the Wizarding World stars, such as Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), shared some informational posts about wearing a mask. At the same time, Oliver Phelps posted a short video about stopping the spread of germs with d2p antimicrobial technology.
No politics. No bullshit. No downside. #WearAMask https://t.co/0nfr8bN3aF
