Universal Orlando Updates: New Locker Construction Piques Curiosity and Bertie Bott’s Face Masks Hit Shelves
There are some exciting new developments at Universal Orlando Resort – new face masks have landed, and Potterheads will soon have brand-new lockers to keep their belongings safe while going on magical rides.
If you liked the Harry Potter Hogwarts House face masks, you’re going to love the new Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavour Beans additions. Yes, you can now get your hands on two different masks inspired by these famous (or should we say “infamous”?) wizarding sweets. The first Bertie Bott’s mask hit shelves at the end of September. It mimics the packaging of the candy, sporting red and white stripes with beans scattered all over.
The latest Bertie Bott’s face mask looks very different from its predecessor: This blue mask features a lady with a festive hat that people will recognize from the boxes of Bertie Bott’s Every-Flavour Beans that are sold at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. To add a splash of color, the mask features a red trim around the edges and ear loops.
You can find these masks while stocking up on candy at Honeydukes or while managing some mischief at Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes. They cost only $6 each, or you can get four for $20. Hogwarts House masks went for the same price but are now selling for $8 each or 3 for $20. The reason for the sudden price increase is unknown.
In other news, construction on new lockers for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is now in full swing. The old lockers, which are inside of Hogwarts, don’t allow a lot of space for social distancing, which seems to be one of the main reasons why this new project was initiated. The new lockers are located at the side of the queue entrances, which means guests can now safely put away their belongings before entering Hogwarts. At the moment, the construction site is covered in scrims, which means we’ll have to wait a little longer to see what the new lockers look like. We’re hoping to be treated to a magical revelation soon.
What do you think of the new masks and lockers in the making? Are you excited? Let us know in the comments.
