Events Roundup: Virtual Christmas Trivia, Location Tours, and Acting Sessions
Some major holidays are right around the corner. You know what that means, right? It’s time to hunker down and enjoy the season at a distance. COVID-19 is still running rampant, so it’s best to be patient and stay safe during the holidays. But have no fear – we have some amazing online activities to check out. Let’s get started.
Harry Potter (Movie) Trivia
If there is ever a shortage of Potter trivia events out there, something has gone terribly wrong. If you know just about every detail of the movies and want to show off your knowledge, this is an event for you. Trivia AD is hosting a live-streamed contest for all the Harry Potter know-it-alls on November 30 at 8:30 p.m. ET online. While your book-smarts may come in handy at another trivia event, you might not need it here. This contest focuses on the movies, so you might want to sit and watch them as a refresher. There is no fee to register or to play, so come as you are and be ready for some fun. More information can be found online.
Harry Potter Christmas Trivia
Speaking of trivia, perhaps your area of expertise is more in line with a Christmas theme. Mark your calendars for December 2 at 8:30 p.m. ET for a magical trivia night. This event will cover details from both movies and books, so study up. Not only that, but questions will come in various forms, such as pictures, riddles, quotes, and so much more. There are cash prizes to be won for you and your team. Registration starts at $10. More information can be found online.
Virtual Harry Potter Location Tour
If you can’t get out of the house quite yet, don’t worry too much. A virtual tour of a few filming locations is all you really need anyway. This online event will take you all over to show you what the real-life locations found in the Harry Potter series look like. An expert guide from Scotland will tell you everything you need to know about the locations as they relate to the Harry Potter series as well as the general history of the area. It’s scheduled for November 22 at 9:00 a.m. PT, and tickets are $20. More information can be found online.
Actor’s Theater Session for Kids
Kids who love to get creative and have fun will love to sit down in a virtual session and work on their acting skills. The acting session will have kids act out scenes from the books as well as create their own skits with magical twists. There are several sessions for kids aged 10–14 to join. Session dates start on December 2 and run through December 23. Registration is based on donations, but the suggested price is $60. Check out the event website for more information.
Hogwarts at Home: Virtual Discussion
Kids say the darndest things! If your kids enjoy talking about all things Harry Potter, then this is a great place to be. This event is hosted by kids, for kids from ages 7 to 12 to talk about everything from the books and movies. There are several sessions to join in on starting on November 23 and running through December 28. All sessions are free to do. For more information, check out the event website.
We hope you (virtually) enjoy all these events. Do you plan on going to any of them? If you do, drop us a line and let us know how it went.
