Rupert Grint, Jude Law, and Gemma Chan Among Backers of “Choose Love” Campaign
Rupert Grint, Jude Law (Albus Dumbledore, Fantastic Beasts), and Gemma Chan (Madam Ya Zhou in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) are among the celebrity supporters of a new campaign from Help Refugees encouraging the public to “Choose Love” this holiday season and support refugees across the world in the process.
Grint and Chan have lent their support to Choose Love already this year, using their platforms to give back to NHS workers amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to the Choose Love website, each item sold in the online store represents a product that will be donated to refugees in need.
Every item in our store represents a similar product or service provided by one of over 135 projects we support around the world. When you buy an item at Choose Love, we get it to where it’s needed most.
These projects are located “across Europe, the Middle East and the US-Mexico border, providing everything from lifesaving search and rescue boats to food to legal advice.” Items available for purchase include those needed for daily survival, such as hygiene products, firewood, and hot food. For those looking to donate a gift on behalf of a loved one, Choose Love additionally offers a three-step process by which those donating can send an e-card to show that they have made the donation.
Grint has used his Instagram account, created earlier this month, to raise awareness of Choose Love and its mission. He was featured in a video alongside Law that was posted to Choose Love’s Instagram account, and he has also posted in support of the initiative on his own account.
