“The Ickabog” Is Coming: Learn About the Illustrators, the Story, and the New Narrator
The latest book from the mind of J.K. Rowling has only hours to go before its official release. The Ickabog will be available to the world starting tomorrow, November 10.
In a Facebook post, it was announced that on November 10, Rowling will host a virtual reading from the book along with CBBC presenter Leah Boleto. Those who want to watch the online event can tune in on November 10 at 5 p.m. GMT on the Ickabog Facebook page. The reading will be from a chapter chosen by you! Readers can vote for the chapter they want to be heard on Facebook before the start of the event. Not only will they discuss the book, but they will also be joined by “several of the young winners of [t]he Ickabog illustration competitions from the UK, Ireland, India, Australia, New Zealand, the US and Canada” who helped bring The Ickabog to life.
Over the course of the book’s anticipated release, children from around the world had the opportunity to submit their own illustrations. On November 2, a video was released of the winners of the competition getting to preview their works in The Ickabog.
In a tweet by Rowling, she announced the Audible version of the book will be narrated by the one and only Stephen Fry. The actor was loved by fans for his narrations of the Harry Potter series, so one can assume his work with The Ickabog will be nothing less than amazing. Audible will release the book on November 10 for $17.49 or for 1 credit if you have an Audible subscription.
