Tom Felton Home Party: A Magical Evening of Song and “Pottah”
Tom Felton’s Home Party this past Saturday was a fun-filled event that took us on a little walk down memory lane with a few surprises along the way. From Tom serenading those watching with a fun collection of original songs to the Q&A, the event was a fun little gem on the ride of life that is involvement in the Wizarding World. The video will be available to watch until November 21, but here’s a sneak peek of what you will find.
Tom took time early on in the evening to highlight DracoTok and a TikTok challenge called the #PottahChallenge to find the best “Pottah” in the world. During the party, he named the winners: (5) @capa_in_visible, (4) @dianabenz, (3) @jules_eleni, (2) @kayla.coughlin, and (1) @gondrethewordsmith. He showed all their respective TikTok videos, and if you have time, you should check them all out because they are pretty amazing.
Between songs, he answered questions from fans. He started off by answering what his Hogwarts House is, what it was like on set, and which Harry Potter movie was his favorite to film. He then tried to get Willow, his dog, on the phone to come join him, but she was sleeping. From there, there was a wonderful cut scene that showed the Daily Prophet, Malfoy Manor, a scrapbook, and a trip into the Pensieve where we saw a wonderful montage from the films in chronological order.
We then went back to fan questions, which were submitted in advance. Some were about what it was like on set or what it was like working with such famous actors, and some were character questions that were just in good fun.
After all the fan questions, Tom introduced a school reunion of sorts about what 19 years later means to you, which brought back many Harry Potter alumni to talk about what it meant to be part of Harry Potter and what it means to think back on it almost 20 years after the first film release.
To finish off the evening, Tom went back to singing some of his original songs and then gave a lovely introduction to Paula DuPré Pesman, who is his connection to the Liv Project. This is an organization of creatives who are determined to turn the tide of youth suicide, through things like documentaries (like the one that kicked off the project), a board game called The Game That Goes There, and jewelry with cool monsters that is being designed by an artist in Africa. It is all done in the vein of getting people to talk about unspoken things, so that people, particularly youth, don’t feel so alone. It is truly a wonderful cause that Tom is supporting. Be sure to check out the Liv Project’s Instagram page (@the_liv_project) or website for more information.
After Tom and Pesmen spent time telling us about the lovely organization the Liv Project, we listened to some more tunes from Tom and also got to see Tom’s dog, Willow; she finally decided to stop in for a visit with all her fans after Tom tried to contact her the whole evening. It was a wonderful evening to support a great cause and is available to watch on Veeps until November 21, 2020, where you will be supporting not only our favorite Slytherin but also the meaningful Liv Project.
