Quidditch Scheduler Hopes to Facilitate Tournament Creation
The registration of players or volunteers for Muggle quidditch tournaments usually happens through Google Forms or similar forms. Now, there’s Quidditch Scheduler, a website specially developed and designed for quidditch tournament registration.
The developers wanted to make creating a tournament easier and quicker by having all the data in one place, and although the idea was born in 2016, the website wasn’t made public until early 2020 – not exactly a good time for quidditch, since many of the tournaments meant to be held in 2020 were canceled or postponed (European Quidditch Cup 2020, IQA World Cup 2020, US Quidditch Cup 13, British Quidditch Cup). As a result, Quidditch Scheduler hasn’t been used much yet.
The website is still being developed, and some features have been added gradually throughout this year. The most recent feature, tournament registration, was added on November 14. Developers also added the ability to include custom images, among other features, in November.
Whenever a player visits the tournament page for a tournament they are registered for, they’ll see a summary of their registration details. If they are playing or volunteering in any games, then a schedule of just those games will appear below. This schedule will reflect any changes that [were] made to games, so [it] is the best way for individuals to stay up to date.
If you’re signed in as a team, this schedule will show the games that your team is playing in. This makes it the best place to keep up to date with last[-]minute time and pitch changes.
Quidditch Scheduler currently offers the ability to create tournaments and invite teams, as well as to register for a tournament as an individual or as a team. Games can also be scheduled, including the automated or manual scheduling of referees. More features are planned, such as the ability to provide referee reviews.
