Eddie Redmayne Talks with Jamie Dornan About What It’s Like to Film Upcoming “Fantastic Beasts” Movie
Although the wait for the third installment in the Fantastic Beasts film franchise has grown longer and longer, star Eddie Redmayne (Newt Scamander) has teased a little bit more about the upcoming film.
Per Variety, Redmayne was vacationing with fellow actor and friend Jamie Dornan when he found out that he had been cast as Newt in the first film, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. More recently, Dornan and Redmayne sat down (virtually) to chat about their roles for Variety‘s Actors on Actors, presented by Amazon Studios. Naturally, Fantastic Beasts came up, and we can’t say that we’re disappointed!
Among the topics of conversation were what it has been like for Redmayne to film for Fantastic Beasts again. Unfortunately, he couldn’t say too much, but what he did say included that there have been some night shoots – and what must have been some very cold water!
I can’t tell you anything other than the fact that I think I’ve got some night shoots in Watford, in Leavesden, [England], that we were meant to shoot in the summer in water. But now, obviously, because of lockdown, and the film shutdown, they’re being shot in early December. And suddenly, you find yourself swimming outdoors in British winter.
He also teased the film’s plot. Almost.
What can I tell you about the plot? Really, not much, mate. I mean, when you come over for dinner, I can tell you. Except — I can’t, because that would be the NDA that I signed.
