All-New “Harry Potter: The Exhibition” Will Begin Touring the Globe in 2022
Warner Bros. announced today that a new Wizarding World exhibition is currently in development and will make its debut in 2022. Harry Potter: The Exhibition will feature characters, settings, and beasts from Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts, and the expanded Wizarding World franchise through “an immersive, behind-the-scenes exhibition experience.”
Fans all over the world will have the opportunity to see the exhibition; it is planned to tour across North America, Latin America, the Asia-Pacific region, and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).
It will feature costumes and props from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films while engaging visitors with environments and installations devoted to the magical world we know and love.
A product of a partnership between Warner Bros. Consumer Products and Imagine Exhibitions, the exhibition will be scalable between 10,000 and 20,000 square feet. This compares to the original Harry Potter: The Exhibition, which was scalable between 10,000 and 14,000 square feet.
Peter van Roden, Senior Vice President of Global Themed Entertainment at Warner Bros. Consumer Products, made this statement:
We are thrilled to be partnering with the experts at Imagine Exhibitions on this all-new Harry Potter exhibition. Everyone involved with this project is committed to bringing a masterfully crafted newly innovative Wizarding World experience to fans around the world.
The announcement of when and where the tour will kick off is expected in the coming months.
The original Harry Potter: The Exhibition toured the world between April 2009 and March 2020, stopping in 20 cities across North America, Australia, Asia, and Europe. The Fantastic Beasts: The Wonder of Nature exhibition just recently opened in December 2020 in London, originally with plans to tour the world as well. It will be interesting to see how this new exhibition differs from the previous and existing ones or whether Fantastic Beasts: The Wonder of Nature ends up becoming merged into the new Harry Potter: The Exhibition.
