Evanna Lynch Announces Memoir to Be Published in September
After months of letting details slip in interviews, Evanna Lynch has announced that her first book will be published in September, with preorders available now.
Taking to Instagram, Lynch announced the memoir and shared with her followers that this is something that she has wanted to do for a while. It seems that the events of 2020 allowed Lynch the time and space to tell the story that she wanted to tell.
In one way, this book is a memoir about my struggle with an eating disorder. However, it’s not really a book about thinness and eating; it’s about rebuilding yourself after, literally recovering yourself. At its essence, it’s about the ongoing negotiation between the voices of our fears and our creativity and all the crazy, interesting, wild things that happen when you keep committing to your dreams.
Fans may know the story of how Lynch found comfort and solace in the Harry Potter books and fan community while struggling with an eating disorder, only to end up playing her favorite character in the movie adaptations. In fact, recently, she has been talking to fellow Potter alumni James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley) about how strange it was to keep her casting as Luna a secret from her friends in the fandom. However, her memoir promises to explore beyond the well-known story and delve into the recovery process that took her on a journey full of “pivotal moments and choices in her life that led her down the path of creativity.”
Lynch has let slip that she was writing a book in previous interviews, but this is the first time that fans are learning a little about its subject matter. The title and cover of the memoir are still in development, but Lynch has promised to share them within the next few months. Although the publication date is some months away on September 14, the memoir is available to preorder now.
