Potterhead Running Club Announces Chocolate Jog 7K
Potterhead Running Club has just announced its second running challenge of the year – Chocolate Jog 7K. The name is inspired by Harry and Ron’s indulgence in wizarding chocolates and sweets during their first ride on the Hogwarts Express in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
In the film, when asked whether they wanted “Anything off the trolley, dears?” Harry replied enthusiastically, “We’ll take the lot!” Included in their stash were the infamous Chocolate Frogs, which each come with a collectible card featuring a famous witch or wizard, such as Albus Dumbledore.
For every running event that takes place, Potterhead Running Club supports a different charity. Its most recent events have supported the Adult Literacy League, Trans Lifeline, and Team Rubicon. This time, however, we are sure that Hermione’s parents, in particular, will approve, because the Chocolate Jog 7K is recognizing the importance of healthy teeth by supporting Dentaid.
We’re pleased to present the ‘sweet’ 2nd event of 2021 in support of @dentaid_charity:

Dentaid aims to improve oral health all over the world. In the United Kingdom, Dentaid has traveling mobile dental units that offer free dental treatment to the most vulnerable people in society. It has also partnered with Seafarers Hospital Society to help fishermen access free dental care from mobile units once they step ashore, and its oral health education scheme is available in the UK and overseas.
Other work Dentaid carries out overseas includes running health projects in schools, creating toothbrushing programs, and providing dental engineer training. It has also created a “DentaidBox,” a portable surgery that can be operated without access to running water or electricity.
Registration for the Chocolate Jog 7K is now open. It costs $27 to sign up, and with this comes a custom finisher’s medal that features “the frog that got away,” a neck ribbon, and a personalized custom digital bib.
You can also support Dentaid by purchasing the Chocolate Frog 7K T-shirt, which is available in different sizes and styles.
Since the event is virtual, the seven kilometers can be completed wherever you like, whenever you like, whether you finish the distance in one go or split it into several parts, whether you run, jog, walk, or skip, and whether you want to complete it at your local park or put on a Harry Potter film to watch while you take part on your treadmill.
You also have the choice of virtually running alongside thousands of others on the optional “run day” of Saturday, March 6, which is Potterhead Running Club’s seventh anniversary.
Will you be taking part in the Chocolate Jog 7K? Registration closes at midnight on Sunday, March 21, so whether you have a sweet tooth for Chocolate Frogs, or maybe you prefer savory snacks such as pumpkin pasties, you can support the amazing work of Dentaid by taking part in the Chocolate Jog 7K.
