Putt-Putt Potter: Miniature Golf Course Takes a Magical Twist with “Potter”-Inspired Rooms
A new Harry Potter-themed miniature golf course, the Hole in Wand, will open May 17 at Coppergate Shopping Centre in York, England. This whimsical golf course is guaranteed to bring the magic.
This interactive magical outing was thought up by the owners of the Potions Cauldron, Phil Pinder and Ben Fry, in Shambles, York. The drink emporium is just a two-minute drive from the new golf course.
The course has nine holes, including a cauldron spilling potion, a portrait of a castle, an office with a Pensieve, and a corridor leading to what looks like the Slytherin common room. At the end of the game, players will find out if they have the powers of a serpent, basilisk, unicorn, or wizard. Players will also receive a magic potion gift to take home.
The mini golf course has taken over the pastry shop Patisserie Valerie and has a small eatery of its own attached. The café includes butterbeer, wand dogs, uni-pop-corn, and Cauldron Cakes, and it will also be open to non-golfers.
The golf course started as a crowdfunding event in the fall of 2020. The popularity of such an idea helped make it a reality. Everyone who pledged their support will receive early access to booking slots and special events throughout the year.
Tickets start at just £6.99. VIP packages include the golf experience and potions pack at £14.99 per person. The couples’ ticket includes golf for two and a Potion and Poison gift box for £24.99.
