Social Media Roundup: Reasons to Celebrate!
Welcome back. It is time to use our Time-Turners once again and see what some of the Wizarding World stars have been up to, in the latest edition of MuggleNet’s Social Media Roundup! The last two weeks have been filled with birthday wishes, an engagement, a COVID-19 vaccine, a rare return to social media, and much more.
Passing the charm of Harry Potter on to a new generation was James Snyder (Harry Potter) from the New York Lyric Theatre production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Previously having only the CliffsNotes version of what their father does, Snyder’s children are now beginning their Potter journey. Each magical word on every page will introduce them to heroes and the characters that mean so much to so many. It gives us chills and brings us back to when we first found that world.

Sharing that he received his COVID-19 vaccine shot was Tom Aldridge (Ron Weasley) from the West End Palace Theatre production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in the United Kingdom.

Joining other fellow Harry Potter alumni on Cameo was Tolga Safer (Karkaroff’s aide).

During the past two weeks, there were even a few birthdays. Stephen Fry shared birthday wishes for Miriam Margolyes (Professor Pomona Sprout).
A group of us just Zoom swooped on the marvellous, miraculous Miriam Margolyes whose 80th birthday it is today. Happy Birthday, magical Madam Mim – you are very very loved

And Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) shared a picture of himself and Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange) on her birthday. We hope both enchanting ladies had incredible birthdays.

It was also the third birthday of Bonnie Wright’s (Ginny Weasley) dog, who seems to be in peaceful contemplation in the below video.

Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) made a rare return to social media – yes, you read that right – to address the rumors of her engagement and retirement from acting that have been going around.
Dear Fans,
Rumours about whether I’m engaged or not, or whether my career is “dormant or not” are ways to create clicks each time they are revealed to be true or untrue.— Emma Watson (@EmmaWatson) May 17, 2021
If I have news – I promise I’ll share it with you.

In the mean time please assume no news from me just means I’m quietly spending the pandemic the way most people are – failing to make sourdough bread (!), caring for my loved ones and doing my best not to spread a virus that is still affecting so many people.

I am sending so much love to you, hoping you’re ok and as well and happy as you can be in these strange times. And again, thank you to everyone working so hard to keep us safe and well.
