What Is Ginny Weasley Doing Now? Bonnie Wright Shares Her Thoughts and More!
While we know the events of the epilogue in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, and the author’s own comments over the years, it’s always interesting to hear what the actors from the Harry Potter films think their characters would be up to now! In an interview with Entertainment Weekly at an event to celebrate the reopening of Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley) gave her thoughts on what Ginny has been doing.
Wright noted that Ginny became a professional Quidditch player, but it sounds as though the Quidditch pitch wouldn’t be the only place she would be flying around.
She’s probably jet-setting around the world, and the kids would be at Hogwarts and having more freedom. I have so much fun making these stories up! I often wonder what their house would look like, where would they be living, and what happens next.
She added that she sees Harry and Ginny as being together still.
She and Harry are, of course, still together and having lots of fun. He’s keeping things under control and busy being a dad.

Entertainment Weekly asked Wright if she still enjoys being a part of the franchise after so many years, and she confirmed that she does.
Of course! As time has gone on since we finished the last film, I feel like my love and respect for it has grown more and more. I’ve now been able to process what the whole thing was from the other side. When you’re in the middle of the experience, you’re busy being present, and you don’t have the time to think of the enormity of it all. I’ve learned so much and met so many incredible people. I especially love meeting young fans who weren’t even alive when the movies were out. I just think, ‘Wow! This is going to keep going in that generational kind of way.’ I think celebrations of the Harry Potter world, like here at the Hollywood studio, keeps everything alive and exciting.
Now a director herself, Wright explained that she has been fortunate to work with some of the actors from the Harry Potter films. Having worked with both David Thewlis (Remus Lupin) and Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) again, she said that it was still “quite nerve-wracking” for her.
It’s lovely to be able to do that but it’s also quite nerve-wracking because they’ve been directed by such incredible people. I’m really grateful for how supportive everyone has been of me.
Wright stated that she shot the final Harry Potter film during her first year of film school and that having been working as an actor motivated her to go behind the camera.
My appreciation and curiosity for the process came to me through my years working on the films.
On remaining in touch with the other Harry Potter cast members, Wright clarified that most of what they discuss with one another is in relation to milestones. Mentioning that it has been over ten years since the cast “graduated” from Hogwarts (with the end of filming in 2010, prior to the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 in July 2011), she additionally expressed her hope that the cast might be able to meet up to mark the occasion.
