Events Roundup: Happee Birthdae Harry!
If you’re going to celebrate the birth of the boy who lived, you may as well add a little bit of… spice. We found the best birthday bashes to attend this weekend in honor of the one and only Harry Potter. With that in mind, let’s get started on this week’s Events Roundup.
Harry’s Birthday in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
Riverstone Books in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, invites you to celebrate in style this year. Witches and wizards aged eight to twelve will have as much fun as their hearts desire by participating in activities such as trivia, wizard’s chess, butterbeer-making, photos, and more. Tickets are free, but registration is required for entry. The fun starts on August 1 at 5:30 p.m. EDT.
Wizard Festival – Harry Potter Birthday Celebration
Maybe a festival is more your celebration style. Wizard Festival in Bourbonnais, Illinois, will be in full swing on July 31 from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. CDT at Northfield Square Mall. Come dressed up as your favorite characters to really have some fun. This family-friendly event promises to present a magical night with dining and drinks, classes for the Hermiones of the world, trivia competitions, photo ops, and so much more. Tickets are $30 per person, and the day is split into two sessions.
Second Annual Wizarding Week Celebrating Harry’s Birthday
Locals of Keene, New Hampshire, may no longer recognize their town after this weekend. Keene has been transformed into Diagon Alley in celebration of Harry’s birthday. From July 27 to July 31, the community can gather around the downtown area for family-friendly fun. A full list of activities and gatherings can be found on the events page online.
Ellen Noel Art Museum Harry Potter Trivia Night
If you think you know Harry and his friends, then try for the title of trivia champion. Ellen Noel Art Museum is hosting a Potter trivia night in Odessa, Texas. Questions will revolve around movie knowledge, so it’s time to binge-watch. Participants over the age of 13 are eligible to play in teams of four. Teams who place first, second, and third will be awarded prizes. Dressing up is most definitely encouraged. The game will begin on August 12 at 6:00 p.m. CDT. Tickets are free for teams, but registration is required.
LeakyCon Denver Is Postponed
An announcement from LeakyCon Denver made fans everywhere a little sad recently. The convention coordinators have decided to postpone the event until October 14–16, 2022. The announcement explains that while they feel confident about the effectiveness of preventative measures against COVID-19, ongoing uncertainty and travel restrictions make it better to be safe than sorry. Tickets that were purchased for this year’s event will automatically be transferred to the new dates. More information and FAQs can be found online.
That’s all we have for you this week. Come back soon for more events near you!
