Dame Julie Walters Opens New Unit at Worthing Hospital
Dame Julie Walters has a compassionate nature that transcends in everything she does. Whether she’s gracing the screens as Molly Weasley in the Harry Potter films, advocating for domestic abuse survivors, or opening new units at local hospitals, it’s safe to say she’s a treasure to this world.
The new Urology Investigation Unit (UIU) has officially been opened by the actress at Worthing Hospital in the United Kingdom. This project was in the making for three years as part of a £2.1 million investment. This new unit has brought in specialty nurses and doctors in a purpose-built facility to better diagnose and treat patients while improving the patient experience and safety.
Walters paid tribute to the staff at her local trust, the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. She is beyond thankful for how everything went.
I just want to say, how you managed to achieve, what you have achieved during the pandemic is just extraordinary. The unit is fabulous. Congratulations to everyone involved. What a project, and what a triumph. So on behalf of all the current and future patients, I want to say thank you.
Chief executive Dame Marianne Griffiths was also extremely grateful to the project team and clinical leadership. Clinical director and consultant urologist Suzie Venn recognizes the valiant efforts of the teams completing this project through the struggles of the pandemic and is thankful for the experience this will give to patients.

It looks like everyone involved had a wonderful time by their smiles. It’s great to see wonderful things like this happening in the world.
