“Harry Potter: Magic Awakened” to Be Released in China This September
Fans of the Wizarding World in China will be able to play Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, the official Harry Potter card role-playing game (RPG) from Warner Bros., next month. Pocket Gamer is reporting that the game – first made available for preregistration back in 2019 – will be released to mobile users in China on September 9.
An official trailer for the game was released back in June.
Pocket Gamer provided additional information about what fans can expect from the game itself.
Harry Potter: Magic Awakened’s story is supposedly set after the Second Wizarding War, and you’ll have to boost your skills not just with spells but also with magical creatures to equip yourself for more challenging battles ahead. The owls of Hogwarts have your letter of acceptance – now all you have to do is to journey across [t]he Black Lake and take your place in [t]he Great Hall. You might even have to deal with Madam Hooch amid the roaring crowds in the stands during a friendly game of Quidditch. It also appears that you’ll encounter creatures from the Fantastic Beasts franchise based on promotional art online.
Currently, the official website for Magic Awakened includes a few country-specific websites beyond China. At the time of publication, the countries listed were Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Thailand. This suggests that the game will be rolled out to these countries eventually, but there is currently no word on when that will be. There is also no word on if Harry Potter: Magic Awakened will be released in other regions of the world.
