Potterhead Running Club Announces the Forbidden 5K
It’s time to lace up your shoes for another virtual running event from Potterhead Running Club. Hot on the heels of the Reflection 5K, launched last month, is another 5 km race: the Forbidden 5K.
Inspired by the Harry Potter series, the sixth event of Potterhead Running Club’s 2021 season includes a medal featuring a unicorn with the $27 registration donation to In Our Backyard, a charity working to end human trafficking.

The registration page for the race notes that registration is open from now until September 19 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time, and the optional “run day” for the event will be held on September 12 for runners who would like to join their running club peers virtually. (The same date is also the National Day of Encouragement.)
The page also provides more information about In Our Backyard.
In Our Backyard is known for posting ‘Freedom Stickers’ in every state across America. Over 500,000 of these stickers to date have helped create access to freedom for victims and survivors of human trafficking. They display the National Human Trafficking hotline and are strategically posted in public restrooms nationwide. When a trafficking survivor calls or texts this hotline, they are offered hope and help.
Our support through this event will help In Our Backyard place thousands upon thousands of Freedom Stickers in communities around the country, letting victims of human trafficking know that help is within reach.
Additional information about Potterhead Running Club can be found on its FAQ page.
