For a chance to witness the “historic moment” of Cursed Child Japan’s opening, you simply need to sign up with your email address on the official website. Five groups of ten people will be selected in the lottery and invited to attend the first performance on July 8.
Cursed Child will be performed in Japanese by a Japanese cast, making it the second non-English-language version of the play, the first to run in Asia, and the seventh to premiere in the world. It will be performed at TBS Akasaka Act Theater, Tokyo, which has undergone renovations throughout 2021 specifically for Cursed Child.
It’s an exciting time for Potter fans in Japan. On top of looking forward to the opening of Cursed Child, they can also now enjoy returning to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Japan, which has had to close various times throughout 2021 because several states of emergency were announced due to COVID-19.
Potterheads in Japan will also be eagerly awaiting the opening of Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter. While it’s not set to open until 2023, a website and promotional video have been released for it, getting fans excited for the second attraction in the world of its kind to open.
Will you be signing up for the lottery for the chance to get a seat at Japan’s first Cursed Child performance? It’s an exciting opportunity for any Harry Potter fan, and we can’t wait to see what’s yet to be revealed about the show!
