“Oculus Reparo”: DIFF Eyewear Releases “Harry Potter”-Inspired Eyeglasses
Today, DIFF Charitable Eyewear, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, has unveiled its Harry Potter x DIFF collection of Wizarding World-inspired frames. For those wishing to cast Oculus Reparo on their eyewear style, witches and wizards need not look any further than this incredibly smart-looking collection of eyeglasses inspired by the Boy Who Lived and the four Hogwarts Houses.
The Harry Potter x DIFF collection features five beautiful and very well-made frames to choose from. First off, we have what appears to be a loving reproduction of the glasses that Harry wore throughout the film series but you know, functional. So not only will they work with the Harry Potter cosplay you’ve been working on, but you’ll be able to see out of them as well. DIFF pays tribute to the Puffs with a pair of tortoiseshell glasses bearing the familiar striking colors and markings from the house of badger. Likely the smartest looking of the bunch, the Slytherin-inspired frames are simple silver rectangular spectacles with a snake-skin pattern emblazoned on the temples and bridge. For the bookish types in Ravenclaw, the temples of your ovular frames form into the beautiful silhouette of Luna Lovegood’s wand. Last, Gryffindors can wear their golden specs with pride since the temples of these glasses are shaped like Professor McGonagall’s wand.
For those who have perfect vision, but would still like to rock one of these stylish glasses, each frame can also be produced for either sun or blue light. So it’s Potter spectacles for all occasions. In an attempt to immerse you even more into the wizarding world, each pair comes with a themed case and cleaning cloth as if you’ve just walked out of Ollivanders with the wand that chose you tucked into a handcrafted box. Considering the quality and detail, the frames are reasonably priced and range from $98 to $139. Overall, this collection is perfect for any Harry Potter fan looking to spruce up their eyewear.
If in case you may be unsure, just know that your dollars are going to a socially conscious company that works to provide vision treatments and glasses for people in need. Not just content to provide sight-saving measures and corrective lenses, the company has also managed to donate over $1.3 million to over 300 charities. So while you’re treating yourself to a stylish pair of spectacles, you can rest easy knowing that you’re also supporting a charitable company.
Which frames would you most like to wear? What other details would you like to have seen on each pair? Do you think Dumbledore’s half-moon spectacles will ever be produced? Let us know in the comments.
