Rupert Grint Reportedly Filming “Cabinet of Curiosities” in Toronto
According to local news reports, Harry Potter‘s Rupert Grint has been spotted in Canada’s Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) recently, and it sounds like he could be filming a new Netflix series there. Although Rupert has not been confirmed by official sources as part of the cast of Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, he has been photographed filming in Hamilton, Ontario, and is rumored to be attached to the project.
A report from Variety in September noted that no shortage of actors had been added to the cast of Cabinet of Curiosities. Rupert, however, was not among them. The series is described as being largely of del Toro’s own creation.
The prolific Academy-Award-winning Mexican filmmaker behind ‘Pan’s Labyrinth,’ ‘Hellboy,’ ‘The Shape of Water’ and ‘Pacific Rim’ will executive produce, co-showrun and direct the series — described as a curation of eight unprecedented and genre-defining sinister narratives meant to challenge traditional notions of horror, ranging from the macabre to magical, gothic to grotesque or classically creepy. Two of the eight tales are original works by del Toro.
Additionally, del Toro has written a book with Marc Zicree titled Guillermo del Toro Cabinet of Curiosities: My Notebooks, Collections, and Other Obsessions, published by Harper Design.
While we don’t know Rupert’s role in the series, we do know that he was spotted at Lamanna’s Bakery, known for its baked goods and massive slices of pizza, in Scarborough. blogTO included an Instagram post from the bakery, where Rupert posed for a photo.
