Insight Editions Unveils Official Companion Book to “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore”
In less than two months, we’re getting another opportunity to revisit the wizarding world in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. In the meantime, we’re getting incredibly antsy to unravel the mysteries that lie behind the future Hogwarts headmaster’s eyes. While we’re all speculating about the potential revelations that are to come in the third Fantastic Beasts movie, we’re getting a key piece of evidence that could help us in our quest to uncover the truth.
Earlier today, Insight Editions unveiled Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore: Movie Magic, the official companion book to the newest installment in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Like previous Movie Magic companion pieces, it will include fun and interactive elements like stickers and pull-out posters alongside beautiful art and illustrations. For all you movie aficionados out there who simply need to know every detail involved in the filmmaking process, the tome will also feature several behind-the-scenes photos and insights alongside exclusive interviews with the cast and crew, including Eddie Redmayne (Newt Scamander), Jude Law (Albus Dumbledore), Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein), Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski), and Ezra Miller (Credence Barebone). It’s interesting to note that although we are fully aware that Katherine Waterston will be reprising her role as Tina Goldstein in Secrets of Dumbledore, she’s still excluded from the marketing material. It seems that Tina is even absent from the cover of the upcoming companion book as well, which you can see below:
Aside from Tina’s glaring omission, we can see the main cast, consisting of Jacob, Mads Mikkelsen as Gellert Grindelwald, Newt, and Queenie in small portraits, lining the top of an ornate circle. Dumbledore is featured front and center above the title. Below the title, Jessica Williams as Professor Eulalie Hicks and Callum Turner as Theseus Scamander stand shoulder to shoulder. Judging by Theseus and Lally’s concerned expressions as well as Lally’s outstretched wand, it appears that the pair is in the middle of some sort of confrontation. On the bottom half of the circle, we see portraits of a phoenix, a Bowtruckle, a Niffler, and the crablike creature that we saw in the trailer. (We suspect these creatures could be Fire Crabs or Chizpurfles.)
Since we’re all going to be Disapparating to the movie theaters on April 15 as soon as Secrets of Dumbledore is released, we won’t have much time with the book to help inform us on any last-minute theories we may have. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore: Movie Magic will be released the same day as the movie, which is likely an intentional choice to help avoid any potential spoilers surfacing on the Internet. Regardless, with an extremely reasonable asking price of $29.99, it’s a fun companion piece that would be a great addition to any Potter fan’s collection. You can preorder your copy now.
Are you excited to peruse the exclusive interviews and interactive pieces in the companion book? Why do you suppose that Tina has been intentionally omitted from marketing material so far? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
