UPDATED: Kowalski Quality Baked Goods Pop-Ups Coming to Two US Cities
Ever since we left the movie theater after watching Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, we’ve wanted to set foot in Jacob Kowalski’s bakery and spend a few dollars on all the pastries we can eat. This week, in the lead-up to the release of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, two Kowalski Quality Baked Goods pop-ups are set to appear on the streets of Muggle America.
According to the Morning Journal, a Kowalski Quality Baked Goods-themed food truck will hit Cleveland, Ohio’s University Circle neighborhood on April 8. The truck will be serving “complimentary movie-themed treats” from noon to 4 p.m., and we’re hoping that the Niffler-shaped bread will make an appearance.
Fans who visit the truck will not only get their fill of magical treats but also have a chance to win Fantastic Beasts giveaways. There are no further details on what this might include, but it’s worth a trip to Euclid Avenue on Friday to find out.
Cleveland is not the only city getting its own taste of Jacob’s baking. Bloom Baking Co., a bakery in Kansas City, Missouri, has revealed that it will be hosting a Kowalski Quality Baked Goods pop-up on April 9 at 9 a.m. The first 100 fans will receive either free lemon meringue tart or an apple strudel (one of Queenie Goldstein’s favorite pastries to make).
Like the bakery truck in Cleveland, Bloom Baking Co. will be giving fans a chance to win movie prizes. But if you are planning on dropping by, be sure to take your Maurader’s Map with you. There are two Bloom Baking Co. premises in the city, and according to the Facebook event, only the City Market shop at 15 East 3rd Street will be holding the pop-up.

We haven’t spotted any more of Jacob’s pop-ups or food trucks set to make the rounds, but we wouldn’t be surprised if there were more out there. If you know of a pop-up happening in your area, let us know!
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore will be released in the United States on April 15.
UPDATE (April 6):
We now know that the truck will be making a stop in San Francisco, California, tomorrow, April 7. DoTheBay writes that the Kowalski Quality Baked Goods truck will be at Washington Square Park from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. PT.
Additionally, more pop-up food truck sightings could be coming, according to DoTheBay.
Kowalski Quality Baked Goods, the New York bakery owned by Muggle Jacob Kowalski in the FANTASTIC BEAST films, has been transformed into a bakery truck that hits the road this April, visiting (11) U.S. cities over the course of two weeks.
Some photos of the truck have also appeared on Getty Images from a stop in New York City today, as you can see in the embedded slideshow below.
Unfortunately, we don’t see any pastries shaped like magical creatures, nor do we know which other cities might soon see this fantastic promotion come their way.
UPDATE (April 10):
In our latest update, Jacob Kowalski’s pastries are going international and getting another California stop.
Tomorrow, April 11, the Kowalski Quality Baked Goods truck will be in San Diego, California. Local news site SDNews.com writes that the truck will be at Belmont Park from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On both April 12 and April 13, fans in Toronto will be able to visit bakery the Grand Order of Divine Sweets to get their taste of the pop-up, according to a Facebook post from Warner Bros. Canada.
The post notes that the pop-up will include photo opportunities and even more Fantastic Beasts fun.
Fans who visit the immersive destination will receive a complimentary movie-themed frog chocolate while supplies last. The pop-up will also feature fantastical photo opps [sic] and offer patrons the chance to win exclusive Fantastic Beasts giveaways. Fans are encouraged to dress up as their favourite Wizarding World characters for the full experience!
With five cities yet to be announced, where would you like to see a Kowalski Quality Baked Goods appear?
UPDATE (April 13):
We’re back with another Kowalski Quality Baked Goods update. The US tour will continue with a stop in Chicago on April 14.
The specially wrapped food truck will be at Lincoln Park, near the corner of Sheffield and West Fullerton, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Like previous stops on the tour, it will be serving magical treats, and there will be prizes and giveaways of Fantastic Beasts goodies.
It will soon be a week since the food truck embarked on its tour on April 8. With the suggestion that there would be 11 US stops across two weeks, we expect the dates to continue until April 22. Counting only the five food truck stops so far, there should be six stops left to go.
We’re starting to think that the store pop-ups are a separate, but equally tasty, promotional venture. However, including the two store pop-ups would mean that there are only four stops remaining. For both the food truck and pop-up, we have no idea which locations are next, but we’ll continue to keep an eye out for more information!
