Potterhead Renovates Yorkshire House into a “Harry Potter”-Themed Airbnb
Some Airbnb hosts go above and beyond for their guests to escape the monotony of reality. In California, there is the spooky Airbnb that replicates the classic Disney’s Haunted Mansion. In Montana, there is the adorable hobbit house on Vrbo to emulate the Shire of The Lord of the Rings. And now, in Yorkshire, England, Potterheads can enjoy the new magical Harry Potter-themed terraced house called 101 House at the End for £150 ($189) a night.
It took designer Hannah Chapman three months to renovate her £232,000 ($293,000) two-bedroom property in York into every Potterhead’s dream, complete with levitating candles, a cauldron, and a potion cabinet. Don’t worry; Snape can’t poison anyone here. The cabinet is filled only with the most benevolent of elixirs. The home improvement project cost Chapman in total approximately £40,000 ($50,000).
We cannot help but wonder if Chapman is a Slytherin, given the house’s obvious homage to the most nuanced Hogwarts House. In both the bedroom and the bathroom, Chapman chose emerald green as the major color scheme (the primary color of Slytherin House). She even added a golden snake on the sink to evoke the bathroom entrance to the Chamber of Secrets.
Don’t delay; book your visit to 101 House at the End today!
