Wizarding World Launches Interactive Harry Potter Shop for UK Shoppers
Harry Potter fans are in for a real treat with a newly redesigned layout of Wizarding World’s Harry Potter Shop 360. Customers shopping on the British version of the website can explore officially licensed merchandise with the ease of shopping in an actual store.
As soon as you enter the virtual space, the 360-degree scrolling lays out merch as if it were on shelves set to a backdrop of Diagon Alley. Scroll to the left, and you’ll find a variety of magical creature plushies, items owned by your favorite characters, Quidditch supplies, and House clothing from Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. Scroll to the right, and you’ll encounter sweet treats from Honeydukes, House merch from Slytherin and Gryffindor, and Ollivanders Wand Shop.
Hogwarts students should be sure to check out the 360° view of platform nine and three-quarters, accessible from the virtual Diagon Alley, for an array of House-themed personalizable gift trunks filled with clothes, a wand, and a Hogwarts acceptance letter.
Also accessible from the Diagon Alley home page, Ollivanders Wand Shop is the perfect place to purchase a wizard or witch’s most prized possession. Shoppers will find wands lining a virtual wall inspired by the wands from the Harry Potter films. You can pick one based on character, House, or special celebratory styles.
The Harry Potter Shop 360 is the latest interactive experience for fans to explore avenues of the franchise. Those who venture to the Harry Potter Shop 360 might remember a time when Pottermore reigned over the fandom prior to becoming Wizarding World Digital. The heavily interactive Pottermore website invited fans to read through the books in a colorful and exciting experience, collect House points, attend virtual magical classes, and practice the magical arts.
Similarly, until 2011, the author of the Harry Potter series also had an interactive flash website for fans to explore. However, in contrast to a shopping experience or a virtual Hogwarts classroom, this second version of her official website portrayed a cluttered desktop filled with links to the latest news on the Harry Potter books, rumors, blog-style posts, and tidbits for fans.
Be sure to check out the redesigned Harry Potter Shop 360 for all your official magical merch.
