“Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery” Partners with “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” for the Holidays
Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery loves to celebrate, and the holiday season is as good a reason as any. In October, we saw the popular mobile game roll out spooky features for Halloween weekend. This month, global entertainment studio Jam City and Portkey Games have cooked up even more fun via a holiday collaboration with the stage production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
The Harry Potter and the Cursed Child + Hogwarts Mystery Campaign runs through the end of January and offers players unique experiences and the chance to win prizes. One major benefit of the partnership is that fans will have the opportunity to watch Cursed Child cast members play the game and experience Hogwarts for themselves. Sonia Friedman and Colin Callender, the producers of Cursed Child, shared their enthusiasm for the collaboration.
We’re thrilled to connect Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery with the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child story, the first collaboration of its kind for Wizarding World fans. This is an exciting way for fans to engage with elements from the world of our play after they’ve experienced the show live on stage [sic] or before they’ve been welcomed through the doors of our theatres.
Cast members will also be providing sneak peeks of some particularly exciting rewards that you won’t want to miss. Fans accessing the game through January 31 will have access to exclusive new House robes based on Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. This reward is available at no cost.
Did we mention grand prizes? Players in the United States and Canada can enter a free sweepstakes event for a chance to win tickets to the New York production of Cursed Child. The prize includes lounge access, a merchandise pack for their Hogwarts House of choice, and in-game energy for Hogwarts Mystery. Entries will be accepted from December 2 through December 10.
Since its launch in 2018, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has amassed over 50 billion minutes of play globally, so it’s no surprise that Jam City and Portkey Games have invested in such a unique experience for the holidays. Jam City’s senior product marketing manager, Justin Fitzwater, offered his thoughts on the thematic relevance of the partnership.
Both Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery and Harry Potter and the Cursed Child explore themes of self-discovery and belonging that deeply resonate with our fans and present unique ways to engage with the Wizarding World.
