Second Season of “Fantastic Friends” Will Include Several More “Harry Potter” Alumni
The wizarding world’s most beloved twins are continuing their travels in a new season of Fantastic Friends. James and Oliver Phelps (who played Fred and George Weasley, respectively) host the adventure-filled travel show, where they and their guest stars explore some of the world’s most exciting destinations.
In eight new episodes, the Phelps duo will enrich viewers with experiences in Australia, Chile, Florida, Patagonia, Singapore, the Swiss Alps, and Turkey, according to Deadline. Like in the first season, Season 2 will incorporate a variety of expeditions in each region, including ghost hunting, go-karting, ice climbing, and snowmobiling, “all with magical themes.”
Of course, what’s an adventure without friends? Several familiar faces from the Harry Potter films and actors from other significant franchises have opted to travel with the Phelps twins in one of these eight episodes. Alfred Enoch (Dean Thomas), Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom), Natalia Tena (Nymphadora Tonks), Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley), Stanislav Yanevski (Viktor Krum), Alfie Allen (John Wick, The Predator), Corey Mylchreest (The Sandman, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story), and Genesis Rodriguez (The Umbrella Academy, Big Hero 6) will all make guest appearances in different episodes.
James Phelps commented to Deadline that the experience of filming Season 2 with old and new friends has been “incredible fun.”
We’ve travelled far and wide to destinations including Australia, Singapore and Chile, taking on all sorts of adventures. We even picked up motorbike licenses so we could tour through the Alps with our old friend Stan Yanevski.
The show’s creator, Daniel Sharp, also commented that even though Fantastic Friends “is an ambitious travel and adventure series, it is ultimately a celebration of true friendship.”
While filming for Season 2 is expected to wrap soon, an official release date has yet to be announced.
