“The Unofficial Harry Potter Vegan Cookbook” and Evanna Lynch Nominated in 2023 Veggie Awards
We love a good award, and one recognizing sustainable practices is even better. VegNews has opened an online survey in which followers can vote for their favorites to win a 2023 Veggie Award. The award honors the best the vegan world has to offer, from products to restaurants to celebrities. This year’s list of nominees consists of some pretty magical choices, such as an incomparable Harry Potter alumna as well as one of MuggleNet’s own publications.
The Unofficial Harry Potter Vegan Cookbook by Imana Grashuis and Tylor Starr is currently up for Best Vegan Cookbook of 2022. Published in November, the book includes more than 75 delicious Wizarding World-inspired recipes sure to delight even non-vegans. Visitors to the book’s page on the Protego Foundation’s website are rewarded with a peek at the visually stunning pages featuring Cauldron Crisps, Dark Arts Fudge, and Drink of Despair.
BIG NEWS: As many of you know, I co-wrote a book called "The Unofficial #HarryPotter #Vegan Cookbook" with my friend Imana that was published in November!

If that weren’t enough, a portion of the proceeds from the book goes to the Protego Foundation, which empowers fans to fight for animal rights. And did we mention the foreword? It was penned by none other than Evanna Lynch, who writes that she hopes that, through the recipes, the reader will experience “the healing power of delicious plant-based food grown by mindful farming methods and prepared with loving hands.” There’s truly no better endorsement. In other words, The Unofficial Harry Potter Vegan Cookbook has most definitely earned its place as a Veggie Award nominee.
Lynch, the aforementioned actress, writer, activist, and vegan, also appears on the list of nominees in the Favorite Vegan Celebrity category. Given her active participation in the vegan world, from headlining the world’s largest vegan festival to her work advocating for animal rights, we can say without bias that she has our vote. Lynch’s cocurator at Kinder Beauty, Daniella Monet, is also up for an award in the Favorite Vegan Instagrammer category.
Polls close on January 31, so make sure to get those votes in soon! And definitely pick up a copy of The Unofficial Harry Potter Vegan Cookbook for all your plant-based recipe needs.
