New Construction Updates for Wizarding World Land at Universal’s Epic Universe
Universal Orlando Resort’s upcoming theme park Epic Universe is set to open in 2025. Rumors have been circulating about what Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts fans can expect to see in the Wizarding World section of the park, including a magical elevator trip that is set to be a re-creation of the Ministry of Magic.
In the last few weeks, newly released permits have provided more detailed information on what will be within each of the park’s buildings, which are now enclosed as work on the interiors begins.
It has now been confirmed that the British Ministry of Magic will be the main attraction within the Wizarding World land, with documents showing Floo Network fireplaces that will be used to enter the Ministry and a large atrium that will contain “lifesize re[-]creations of the statues seen in the films.”
Visitors will enter the Wizarding World land through the Porte Saint-Denis arch that is currently under construction, and the center of the land will feature a circus tent, which is expected to be based on the Circus Arcanus from Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and through which the theater show will be entered; not much is known about the story or theme of this show, but it is likely to feature actors and special effects.
The streets visitors will walk through will feature tall buildings, accurately reflecting the streets of wizarding Paris that are seen in the Fantastic Beasts films.
Of course, you can’t visit a theme park without taking a little bit of the magic home with you, and fans will be pleased to hear that merchandise will be available to buy; the Wizarding World land is expected to have five retail locations, though the contents of these are yet to be confirmed.
It’s still a few years until we’ll be able to visit Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe in 2025. Stay tuned for future news and updates because there is a lot that is yet to be discovered about the Wizarding World land.
