Evanna Lynch Hosting Virtual Event for This Year’s Harry Potter Book Day
Bloomsbury’s Harry Potter Book Day, a day that celebrates the Harry Potter books with a series of events, parties, and festivities, is taking place on October 12, and Harry Potter‘s own Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) will be hosting a virtual event in partnership with Twinkl and Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter.
The theme of this year’s Harry Potter Book Day is “magical places,” exploring the many enchanting locations found within the wizarding world, from Hogsmeade to the Burrow to the Ministry of Magic.
The virtual event will include a range of exciting sessions, including creative writing in the Great Hall, spellcasting on platform nine and three-quarters, and a session on how to draw Hogwarts with Evanna and Jonny Duddle, one of the Harry Potter book illustrators.
The event, which has been designed for children between ages seven and eleven, will be made available prior to October 12 to allow time for planning, and on the day, it will be free for teachers to show at school and for children to watch in the evening.
Evanna has expressed her excitement about taking part in the day:
I’m delighted to present this special lesson and hope it inspires [children] to pick up a pen, a book – or even a wand.
While this is the event’s ninth annual celebration, this is the first year it will be celebrated as Harry Potter Book Day – it was previously known as Harry Potter Book Night. The event’s organizers hope this change will make it more accessible for fans of all ages.
Those wanting to take part can sign up online for an event kit, which is filled with ideas and activities that can be used for you to hold your own event. The kit can be utilized by all, including booksellers, schools, librarians, families, and fans. In the kit, you’ll find invitations, quizzes, word searches, coloring, games, and ideas for decorating, cosplay, and food and drink.
