Three Finalists in the Running to Write Upcoming “Potter” Series
Anticipation for the Harry Potter television adaptation has been high since its initial announcement, and with its premiere currently slated for 2026, that’s unlikely to change soon. In the meantime, we will have to busy ourselves by feasting on any series-related news to be had, such as a recent report by Deadline.
As previously noted, writers had already begun pitching ideas for the series, with a number of them making formal presentations in Los Angeles and a second round following in London. The group had been narrowed down to three, with one of the contenders being Francesca Gardiner, whose work can be seen in Succession, His Dark Materials, Killing Eve, The Rook, and The Man in the High Castle.

We can now confirm the other two writers in the running to be Tom Moran and Kathleen Jordan. Moran is a British writer known for the series The Devil’s Hour, The Feed, and Wild Bill. Jordan is currently working on the Netflix series The Decameron and created Teenage Bounty Hunters.
According to Deadline, a final decision on who gets the job is expected in June. However, more than one writer could end up being involved in the series’ creation, and Max is also open to possibly developing multiple ideas based on Harry Potter.
We will be sure to update you with any further information regarding the series.
