“Hogwarts Legacy” Provides Details on Summer Update
Since Portkey Games’s Hogwarts Legacy update announcement in February, things have been pretty quiet on the update front. However, this week, the official Hogwarts Legacy social media pages dropped the following news:

The new update – which will launch on Thursday, June 6 – will include these new features:
- Photo mode
- Azkaban prisoner’s outfit & coat
- Felix Felicis potion recipe
- The Glasses That Lived
- Onyx hippogriff mount
- Lavender Borealis broom
- Reset Talent Mode
- Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest
While the Azkaban prisoner’s outfit and the Glasses That Lived are great references and throwbacks to the Harry Potter books and movies, two of the most sought-after additions will be the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest – a feature that has been available only to PS5 players so far – and photo mode, an update that will please the Colin Creeveys of the community.
Photo mode is a feature that was made for Hogwarts Legacy, with its ability to let players take pictures of the breathtaking world and creatures that make up the game’s incredible landscape. Players will be able to alter their creations with the help of these exciting tools:
- Tilt
- Depth of field
- Focus
- Exposure/contrast/saturation
- Artistic filters
- Character poses
It is unknown whether photo mode will be loyal to wizarding world tradition by allowing the subjects to move within the photograph once taken, but whatever happens, we cannot wait to start our virtual photographic journey through Hogwarts.
As for the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest, this has been an additional feature that non-PlayStation players have been eager to get their hands on since the game’s launch. Featuring Penny the house-elf, the quest has players embark on a terrifying adventure to the basement of a dusty and murky-looking shop, unaware of what awaits them in the shadows. If you were a fan of Resident Evil’s Donna Beneviento quest, then you will love the overall design and gameplay of the Haunted Hogsmeade Shop quest.
Another cool feature is Felix Felicis – a potion recipe that was previously a preorder exclusive. The benefit of Felix Felicis is the ability to locate bigger loot chests on the mini-map, an advantage that will help players save up for the more lucrative items that are available in and around Hogsmeade.
Additionally, the abilities to alter talent points and expand the player’s collection of mounts and brooms will no doubt leave fans as pleased as when Deek the house-elf is watching a new potion brew. These will all add to the unique and enchanting experience that is Hogwarts Legacy.
