“Harry Potter: The Exhibition” New York Celebrates Harry’s Birthday and More Prior to Closing

It is said that all good things must come to an end, and it is an unfortunate truth that applies to Harry Potter: The Exhibition in New York City. Having brought some seriously interactive magic to the Big Apple since its opening in May of last year, its tenure in the city will end on August 11. Luckily, there are a few more exciting events to celebrate before the doors close one last time on this stop on the tour.

On July 18, The Exhibition will be hosting a final After-Hours Night for guests age 18 and up. An event created in the spirit of those late-night bookstore release parties and midnight film premieres, After-Hours Night runs from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and includes a complimentary commemorative tote bag and snacks, as well as a drink voucher. Beverages include cocktails, mocktails, and sodas, with a valid ID required to consume alcohol.

There will also be one more Sensory Sunday on August 4. In partnership with KultureCity, a nonprofit devoted to creating inclusive experiences for individuals with sensory processing disorders, The Exhibition has endeavored to do just that with these special blocks of time. Designated quiet rooms will be available to guests needing a moment or two in a calm space, and sensory bags will be available upon request, filled with such assistive tools as noise-canceling headphones, strobe reduction glasses, and more. The KultureCity website has a helpful Sensory Story for those wishing to prepare for the experience.

Finally, July 31 marks a very special birthday in the wizarding world. Harry Potter: The Exhibition New York will be celebrating the birth of our favorite wizard with special treats and prizes available to guests from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This includes free ice cream, commemorative birthday buttons, and ticket giveaways and contests. Not only that, but guests named Harry will receive free admission, while everyone else will have access to an $11 ticket special using the code HPBDAY2024.

There’s still much to experience before The Exhibition leaves New York. Will you be participating in any of the upcoming events?
