Eddie Redmayne Reportedly Filmed Scenes as Newt Scamander for Epic Universe

Now that Universal Orlando Resort has officially announced the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, we can focus with renewed vigor on the details that will make it Epic Universe’s most enchanting land. First up on the list is the park’s incorporation of the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

Entertainment Weekly has reported that Eddie Redmayne will be picking up the menagerie-encompassing suitcase as Newt Scamander for the park. New scenes featuring the star, which have apparently already been filmed, are set to be featured throughout the Ministry of Magic park, along with tons of entertainment that hearkens back to the Fantastic Beasts films.

The live show Le Cirque Arcanus, for example, which is described as a powerhouse theater experience with live performers, aerialists, puppetry, and special effects, tells the story of Ringmaster Skender after stealing Newt Scamander’s suitcase and the creature-filled chaos that ensues.

The parks’ dining opportunities make the most of the Parisian theme afforded by the later Fantastic Beasts films, with locations such as Café L’Air De La Sirène, Le Gobelet Noir, Bar Moonshine, and a Bièraubeeurre Cart. Shops like Les Galeries Mirifiques, K. Rammelle, and Tour En Floo also offer guests a good reason to part from their Galleons. And for those wishing to interact with the fantastic beasts throughout the park, a visit to Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique for a new wand is in order.

As this section of the park fuses 1920s Paris and 1990s London via the Métro-Floo network, there is plenty to enjoy from the Harry Potter series as well. The land’s main attraction, for example, is Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry. This ride will use new omnidirectional technology to take guests from Paris to the British Ministry of Magic, where the trial of Dolores Umbridge is about to take place. The infamous former headmistress attempts to escape, leaving guests to accompany Harry, Ron, Hermione, and a house-elf named Higgledy on a thrilling chase to recapture her.

Guests won’t need to stand in line to experience some of these beloved individuals, however. Ministry of Magic will also feature characters walking through the park for some added interaction. Expect to see exchange students from Hogwarts and Ilvermorny, an Auror on duty for the Ministère des Affaires Magiques de la France, and talking portraits.
