House of MinaLima Opens in Edinburgh Alongside MinaLima’s New “Harry Potter” Yule Ball Collection

To Harry Potter fans, Scotland is the home of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and now it is also home to Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima’s House of MinaLima Edinburgh. The new gallery-shop is opening in Edinburgh’s Old Town, a historic town that is the oldest part of Scotland’s capital city.

The shop’s soft opening took place on November 18 – the same day as the launch of some of MinaLima’s new ranges, including the Harry Potter Yule Ball collection. Meet-and-greet sessions are taking place with Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima on November 23 and 24.

The shop will showcase MinaLima’s enchanting artwork as collectible, limited-edition prints from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, including designs for iconic props such as the Goblet of Fire, the Triwizard Cup, and Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes.

You’ll also find the new Harry Potter Yule Ball collection, as well as the MinaLima Classics product range and the recent Phantom of the Opera limited-edition art prints.

House of MinaLima Edinburgh will give fans access to collections of stationery, homeware, and accessories. From journals, notebooks, and notecards to tea towels and much more, these will all feature authentic graphic artwork from the Potter and Beasts films.

Also available to buy there will be MinaLima’s deluxe editions of their illustrated and interactive books Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, plus Studio MinaLima’s monograph, The Magic of MinaLima: Celebrating the Graphic Design Studio Behind the Harry Potter & Fantastic Beasts Films.

Mina and Lima started working together on the Harry Potter films in 2001, creating the entire graphic universe that is seen within the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, including many iconic props, such as Harry’s Hogwarts acceptance letter and the Marauder’s Map. In 2009, they founded their graphic design studio, Studio MinaLima, and House of MinaLima opened in London in 2016 – an immersive gallery and shop that showcases their graphic works.

Since the release of the illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, it has been announced that MinaLima is not continuing with the illustrated Harry Potter book series, with publishers Scholastic planning to continue with the series with new illustrators.

Following a soft opening on Monday 18th November, Miraphora and Eduardo will welcome guests at the opening of House of MinaLima with Meet & Greet sessions on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November 2024.

The MinaLima magic was first sparked when Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima began working together to imagine and create the entire graphic universe of the Harry Potter film series. Motivated by a shared artistic vision, Studio MinaLima was founded in 2009 to create distinctive and unconventional design and illustration. In 2016, the magic spread, with House of MinaLima opening its first shop doors and offering our worldwide fan base an immersive retail experience and authentic merchandise, paving the way for further retail experiences across the world.

Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima created the entire graphic universe of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, including much-loved props such as Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Acceptance Letter, the Marauder’s Map and The Daily Prophet newspapers.

The gallery will showcase MinaLima’s spellbinding artwork as collectible limited-edition prints for the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films including designs for iconic props such as the Goblet of Fire, the Triwizard Cup, Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes, and more.

At House of MinaLima Edinburgh fans can discover MinaLima-designed highly desirable collections of stationery, homeware and accessories including journals, notebooks, notecards, tea towels and more, featuring authentic graphic art from the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films.

Visitors to House of MinaLima Edinburgh will be able to shop MinaLima’s brand new Classics collection, inspired by the popular MinaLima Classics book series. The enchanting products are brimming with lavish illustrations and captivating design details from Peter Pan, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and The Beauty and the Beast. Literature’s most treasured tales come to life across a range of original stationery and accessories.

MinaLima Classics is a series of beloved children’s stories completely reimagined by Studio MinaLima from cover-to-cover, with the pages within featuring vivid illustrations and bewitching interactive elements. The growing collection currently has nine titles including Peter Pan, Alice in Wonderland, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and The Beauty and the Beasts.

The Phantom of the Opera

Studio MinaLima and The Really Useful Group have worked together to create three limited edition art prints, inspired by moments from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s iconic musical. The art prints depict beloved moments, featuring leading characters, The Phantom and Christine Daaé, including three of fan-favourite songs, ‘The Phantom of the Opera’, ‘Angel of Music’ and ‘The Music of the Night’. Each of the three designs is limited to an edition of 250 and available to purchase at House of MinaLima Edinburgh.
