“Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking” Renewed for Season 2
After a very successful first foray into the world of wizarding food, Food Network has renewed Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking for a second season. The competition baking show, which first premiered in November, was an instant hit, with incredible ratings from its first episode.
The show sees contestants designing and creating magical bakes to fit various wizarding world themes and locations. From elaborate centerpieces inspired by the tunnels and vaults of Gringotts to an array of handheld desserts in tribute to the bustling cobbles of Diagon Alley, the bakes of the first season were really sights to behold.
The second season will follow the same format as the first. Hosts James and Oliver Phelps, who played Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter films, will stay for this season, as will judges Carla Hall and Jozef Youssef. The second season will also be filmed at Warner Bros. Studios London among the grandeur of the actual Harry Potter film sets. While the first season included guest judges, such as Harry Potter alums Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) and Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), it’s currently unknown which other alums might make an appearance if this trend continues.
Along with the announcement, Betsy Ayala – Warner Bros. Discovery’s Head of Content, Food – described how the company “cannot wait to bring the audience an even more magical second season.” There is currently no word about when this second season will be filmed or released.
