Everything Ron Weasley

As Ron Weasley celebrates his 45th birthday, it’s only fair to pay tribute to his vibrant and loving nature. True to the vibes of the Weasley clan, Ron feels like a comfort character. He’s the friend you want on your side, and his sense of humor can make you laugh even in the midst of grim situations. He treats his friends like family and sacrifices himself to protect others.

In honor of Ron’s birthday this year, let’s play a game called “Everything Ron,” in which we will assign Ron Weasley different things such as colors, animals, movies, etc. that we feel fit his character.

Ron as a Color: Vermilion

Reminiscent of a spirited sunrise, this shade of orange aligns beautifully with Ron’s fiery and spontaneous personality. Vermilion is usually associated with passion, energy, and excitement; Ron brings all of these traits alive in his character. This color also symbolizes boldness and fluidity, which the Weasley personality embodies well. The hue fits Ron to a T given the fact that he’s a redhead and Gryffindor.

Ron as an Animal: Lion

If Weasley – Our King, at least on the Quidditch pitch – has to be assigned an animal, it certainly is the king of the jungle. Ron is brave, courageous, and combative. Like the lion, Ron loves to eat and sleep. The Gryffindor mascot is also a lion, which is another happy coincidence.

Ron as a Fruit: Watermelon

Ron is sweet and kind-hearted at his core, so the fruit assigned to him should also be loaded with sugar and freshness. Hence, we think watermelon is an appropriate choice. The fruit brings a sweet relief in summer, much like Ron relieves the tense situations throughout the series with his one-liners. The redness of the watermelon also matches the House colors of Gryffindor – a happy coincidence again!

Ron as a Dessert: Lemon Meringue Pie

If Ron has to be a dessert, a pie works the best for him. Pie gives off homey and familial vibes, much like the warmth of the Weasley family. But the flavor of the pie also screams freshness and tanginess, just like Ron. The pie is a perfect combination of sweetness, zest, and delicacy, which is just what his personality adds to the trio.

Ron as a Flower: Periwinkle

This starry flower is easy to miss – just like how often Ron goes unnoticed – but that doesn’t lower the shine of these plants. Periwinkle is usually associated with emotions such as love, everlasting friendship, and nostalgia. These emotions resonate with Ron a lot and evoke pleasant memories of the golden trio. Periwinkle is commonly used as a bedding plant because it creates a well-connected root system, which also mirrors Ron’s easy ability to make fast friends.

Ron as a Song: “Dreams” by The Cranberries

Though this coming-of-age song is dedicated to love, it’s also about self-discovery and the volatile nature of life. The song speaks to feelings of friendship, individuality, and hope. The music is bright and luminous, personifying a group of friends having fun and seizing the day – a perfect fit for the golden trio if we ever heard one.

Ron as a Book: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl

Ron isn’t always keen on reading books, but we think he likes funny, youthful, and warm-hearted stories. Dahl’s book is about a poor boy – who sounds like Ron – and his adventures inside Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. (Its descriptions of fantastical food is another tick for the “Ron’s interests” list.) The story is a magical, comedic adventure – a fitting choice for someone who brings so much comedy to his own magical adventures.

Ron as a Holiday: Christmas

His birthday may be near the end of winter, but if Ron’s vibe in holidays isn’t Christmas, we don’t know what is! Like Christmas, Ron evokes emotions of warmth, kindness, support, and companionship. The love he has for his friends and family is pure and transparent, just like the “Christmas spirit.” Christmas in popular culture is also synonymous with joy, which is both Ron’s personality at heart and what he brings to the Potter series.

Wasn’t this fun? We hope you enjoyed it as well. What do you think of our choices? Let us know what you think Ron would be as a movie, gemstone, or any other random category of things!

My mind is like a box of candies from honeydukes, a colorful combination of different tastes. Writing about Harry Potter is a ticket to platform nine and three quarters for any Harry Potter fan. I wish to write about each alley and every wand of this universe.
