Rumored “Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition” Canceled
With Hogwarts Legacy’s success, it’s no wonder people want more. Last year, rumors started circulating about further expansion content and a Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition, which would include all of the game’s extra content. However, Bloomberg is now reporting that Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. has scrapped these plans.
The expansion content would have seen 10 to 15 hours of extra gameplay in the form of side quests, activities, and a new story quest, as well as a new collection of outfits. The story quest was set to give more insight into one of the game’s companion characters who was cut from the game during initial development. Rumors originally suggested that this content would be released this year as a separate DLC, available to purchase for around $20 to $30.
However, it now seems this content will never be released. Reportedly, the company believed there wouldn’t be enough content for the price the DLC would have sold for. This move comes after several other big decisions at Warner Bros. Games, including a change of president and the cancellation of a high-profile game based on Wonder Woman.
Despite these changes, Hogwarts Legacy’s anticipated sequel is still on the roster, with Avalanche Software working on it as one of Warner Bros. Discovery’s “biggest priorities.” Information about the sequel is hard to come by, but hopefully, we’ll get to know more soon.
