Hans Zimmer to Score HBO’s New Harry Potter Series

by MuggleNet · January 15, 2026

Hans Zimmer is officially heading to the Wizarding World.

According to reporting from Variety, Hans Zimmer and his music company Bleeding Fingers Music have been tapped to compose the score for HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter, set to debut in 2027.

Honoring the Past

Zimmer will be joined on the project by Bleeding Fingers composers Kara Talve and Anže Rozman, who emphasized the weight of stepping into such a beloved musical legacy.

“The musical legacy of ‘Harry Potter’ is a touch point for composers everywhere and we are humbled to join such a remarkable team on a project of this magnitude,” the trio said in a joint statement. “The responsibility is something that myself, Kara Talve and Anže Rozman do not take lightly… With this score we hope to bring audiences that little bit closer to it whilst honoring what has come before.”

About Hans Zimmer and Bleeding Fingers Music

Hans Zimmer is one of the most influential composers working today. Across more than 500 projects spanning film, television, and beyond, his work has helped generate over $28 billion at the global box office. His awards are equally impressive: two Oscars, three Golden Globes, four Grammys, six Emmy nominations, and even a Tony nomination.

Zimmer’s credits include: Dune (Parts One and Two), Top Gun: Maverick, No Time to Die, Interstellar, The Dark Knight trilogy, Inception, The Last Samurai, Gladiator, Thelma & Louise, and more. Most recently, his score for the Jerry Bruckheimer–produced Apple Original Film F1: The Movie helped propel it to become the highest-grossing sports film of all time.

Beyond the studio, Zimmer has also become a global touring powerhouse. His Hans Zimmer Live concerts consistently sell out worldwide, and he’ll wrap the European leg of his current tour in spring 2026.

Bleeding Fingers Music is the Emmy-winning, Grammy- and BAFTA-nominated collective Zimmer co-founded with Russell Emanuel and Steven Kofsky. The company brings together a roster of genre-spanning composers and is home to 25 cutting-edge studios and a top-tier production team.

A New Era Begins

With Hans Zimmer and Bleeding Fingers Music shaping the sound of HBO’s Harry Potter, the series is signaling a bold but respectful evolution of the franchise. And if Zimmer’s track record is any indication, Hogwarts is about to sound bigger, deeper, and more emotionally resonant than ever before.
