If you’ve wandered through Hogsmeade at Universal’s Islands of Adventure lately and felt like something was missing after dark, you weren’t imagining it. The nighttime projection show “Hogwarts Always” has been on hiatus while construction reshaped parts of the surrounding area, leaving the castle a little quieter than usual. That’s, very thankfully, about to change. The show officially returns May 30, just in time for the summer crowds.

For anyone who hasn’t seen it, “Hogwarts Always” has music, lighting and projections that represent a full school year, from the Sorting to the final feast. Plus, the ending changes depending on which day you attend. Each performance crowns one of the four houses as the winner of the House Cup, so Gryffindors, Slytherins, Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs all have a reason to visit again for a second showing. The show is set to run every 20 minutes from sundown until the park closes.

With the Wizarding World now spanning Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure, Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida and the Ministry of Magic at Epic Universe, the parks have been steadily expanding what a day in the world can look like. Getting “Hogwarts Always” back means the full experience finally feels whole again, just in time for summer.
