Bloomsbury to publish “J.K. Rowling: A Bibliography”!
Bloomsbury will publish J.K. Rowling: A Bibliography, by Philip W. Errington, this winter. The Bloomsbury website states that the book will be:
“the definitive bibliography of the writings of J. K. Rowling. In addition to complete bibliographic details of all her books, pamphlets, original contributions to published works and broadcasts, there is detailed information on Rowling at auction, on significant reviews and on scholarly work on Rowling. This will be the first source on Rowling consulted by textual scholars, book collectors, auction houses, critics and researchers. The aim of the book is to record fact and dispel rumor on the fascinating publishing history of the Harry Potter series.”
The book seems to be more of an academic book and collection of documents, rather than something for the casual fan – but it certainly sounds interesting for the dedicated Potter fan! The release date for the hardback edition is listed as December 4, 2014, on the Bloomsbury UK website, with price listed as £65 and the online price as £58.50. The book is available to preorder on Amazon UK, although the site lists the book with the earlier release date of October 23, 2014. Hopefully, the release date will be clarified soon!
The American EPUB e-book and PDF e-book are listed as $100.99. Amazon US lists the book as $114, with a release date of December 18, 2014, and is available to preorder.
In Australia, the RRP is AUS$130, with the e-book versions at AUS$115.99.
The author, Philip W. Errington, is currently “director for Children’s Books within the Department of Printed Books and Manuscripts at Sotheby’s. He is the author of John Masefield : The ‘Great Auk’ of English Literature: A Bibliography (2004), and the editor of several new editions of Masefield’s work.”
